EVA Air - Hello Kitty Plane
EVA Air – Hello Kitty Plane

It’s the Hello Kitty plane! The whole side of the plane is  decked out in enormous, brightly colored, Hello Kitty graphics. And it doesn’t stop there the plane is filled with Hello Kitty touches from videos on the seat-back screens to pillows with the iconic figures on them. Even the aprons the stewardesses are wearing have Hello Kitty on them.

Our first meal in the air was a choice of pork rice or fish pasta. Mom and Steve took the fish pasta so I took the pork rice to try something different. The pork rice was delicious and the sides were excellent. Steve completely cleaned his plate and Mom gave me her seal of approval on the fish pasta. Oh! And I should mention the Hello Kitty flourishes on the dinner matte and the plastic wear. Even the carrots on the dishes were cut into Hello Kitty and bow ties! They really aren’t fooling on this Hello Kitty branding on this plane!

I’ve done a lot flying over the years and I have to say that this EVA Air flight is the nicest airline experience I have EVER had. The staff is friendly and efficient. The space is adequate, even in economy. Everything is incredibly clean and the lighting and color is bright and the whole plane feels open and spacious.

The safety video is one of the best I have ever seen. It’s completely animated and it’s colorful, humorous and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before.

The screens on the seat-backs are controlled by remotes that pull out of the armrest. You have a choice of current film releases on demand, TV, and music. There are also games and the remote can be turned sideways like a wii-mote to become a game controller. There is also an incredible channel showing the flight track with current location, flight data and travel information on points of interest as we fly past them. Amazing.

We weren’t sure what we were getting when we purchased the tickets on EVA Air. What we’ve found is my favorite airline. It’s a good start to the journey!

Mid-flight update: we are somewhere approaching the coast of Japan and I’ve just used the lavatory. Holy cow they even have Hello Kitty toilet paper in there! :-)[/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=”flexslider_fade” interval=”3″ images=”1073,1074,1075,1076,1077,1078,1079,1080,1081,1085″ onclick=”link_image” custom_links_target=”_self” title=”Pics from the air” img_size=”400×300″][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Hi. I’m David, your host at The Intellexual Network. I’ve been a fan of podcasting for years – having first been exposed to podcasting as a Radio & Television Communications student in the early 2000s. I started my first podcast in 2005 as a part of the marketing blitz for a feature film I produced here in San Diego called “What’s The Vig?” I’ve tried more personal shows off and on over the years, but in 2013 I found my voice with the “Voices of ’93 Podcast” which I hosted and produced for my high school class as a celebration of our 20 year reunion. The success of this show, and the overwhelming response of my classmates to continue it past the reunion, has inspired me to round up my extremely talented family and friends and launch The Intellexual Network. A place where we can produce the types of shows that we would listen to, and we think you’ll enjoy.
